The team at Inspiring Young Musicians Inc. is passionate about transforming lives through the power and joy of music. Based in Armidale, the heart of New England NSW, this music non-for-profit incorporated association is dedicated to supporting local children and teenagers in Armidale and surrounding areas. Through donations, charitable events, grants and innovative programs, Inspiring Young Musicians Inc. will provide opportunities for young musicians to thrive, regardless of their background.
Mission Statement
The members believe that every child deserves the chance to explore his/her musical potential and share the joy of music with a broad community. By offering access to instruments, lessons and performance opportunities, Inspiring Young Musicians Inc. aims to inspire creativity, build confidence and self-esteem, enhance the team spirit and foster a lifelong love for music in New England's next generation. In the longer term, the aim is to further establish Armidale as one of Australia's top musical centres.Also, it is vital to reach out into the community to expand music genres and promote culture at every opportunity,

Armidale Symphony Orchestra
The concert opens with a new work by local composer Matthew Minter, showcasing the vibrant creativity of Armidale’s own talent.Under the baton of Robert van Gend, the Armidale Symphony Orchestra (ASO)—joined by distinguished guests from the Armidale Youth Orchestra (AYO)—will perform Haydn’s London Symphony No. 104.Enjoy a thirty-minute interval, with refreshments available at the neighbouring Bistro Bar.Following the break, Robert van Gend returns to the stage to conduct international concert pianist Yi-Yang Chen, the ASO, and guests from the AYO in a stirring performance of Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto.When: Sunday | 15/03/2026 | 3:00PMWhere: Lazenby Hall, UNETicket Fee: Adults $50 | Children $20Early Bird: $40 (for 2025 Bookings)
Bistro Soirée
Following the concert, the evening will continue at Lazenby Bistro, featuring a Q&A with guest artist Dr. Yi-Yang Chen and live music from renowned classical guitarist Dr. Peter Doublinszki.
